My client is looking for an experienced Senior Financial Accountant, who is able to provide a fresh perspective to the finance team's operations.

Description
You will be required to, but not limited to:
- Processing month-end journals
- Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Monthly management reporting
- Manage cash flow & bank reconciliations
- Mentor and coach junior team members
- Ad hoc projects
- Lead, develop and coach two direct reports with emphasis on timely, quality and client-focused outcomes, whilst assisting the Manager of Financial Reporting on the continuous improvement of the financial reporting process
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial legislation and accounting standards
- Monthly and ad hoc reporting responsibilities and process management to include financial analysis, audit and risk committee papers preparation
- Year end audit planning
Profile
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Demonstrable technical accounting ability
- Strong organisational skills and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively in a team environment with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated team leadership capability, including the management of individuals through a performance focused process, using organisationally aligned goals
- Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to partner with finance and non-finance stakeholders
- Undergraduate qualifications in accounting, business finance or similar
- CPA / CA qualified
- Minimum five (5) years commercial experience
- A thorough understanding of accounting standards and accounting principles
- An understanding of accounting and budgeting within the Commonwealth Government's budgetary and reporting framework
- Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in high level ERP's, such as Oracle
- Well-developed analytical skills and demonstrated problem solving skills
