Financial Controller

The Financial Controller will be number 2 to the FD and play a vital role in the company's finance and business division.

Description

• Proactively manage all financial aspects of the business

• Prepare monthly management accounts and annual statutory accounts to identify results, trends and financial forecasts

• Manage cash flow by tracking transactions and regularly reviewing internal reports / information and then circulate weekly cash flow forecast to Senior Management and Board

• Supervise and manage financial department staff, including accountants and financial assistants

• Motivate and lead finance team members by clearly defining roles, conducting appraisals, setting and reviewing objectives

• Suggest updates and improvements for accounting systems including ERP development

• Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed and reported

• Establish and implement financial reporting systems to comply with government regulation and legislation

• Liaise with auditors to ensure proper compliance with all regulations

• Develop and prepare budgets and financial plans for the company

• Review all financial plans and budgets regularly to look for cost reduction opportunities

• Examine all financial reports and data closely to check for discrepancies

• Create systems to prevent errors in data collection and calculations

• Assist the COO/FD in presenting reports to senior managers, stakeholders and board member

• Undertake ad hoc duties and provide support / cover to the Financial Director as and when required

Profile

• CIMA / ACCA Qualified
• Bachelor's degree or master's degree in accounting, business, economics, finance or related field
• Between 5-10 Years' experience of working within a Finance Department
• To be able to demonstrate strong management and leadership skills
• Proven track record for system development / ERP implementation & improvement
• Working knowledge of CODA Financials preferred
• Ability to prioritise & work under pressure
• Strong system, process and procedural skills
• Strong communication skills
• High attention to detail
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Ability to motivate , direct and drive people
• Hands-on', pro-active / flexible / own initiative, dynamic, reliable, good memory, positive attitude, accurate, confident
