Head of the Strategic Support Unit SIB's Strategic Support Unit provides professional advice to a range of partner organisations in the public sector in Northern Ireland. SIB now wishes to recruit a Head of the Strategic Support Unit.  The person appointed will be responsible for the strategic leadership and operational management of the Unit, including line management of its seventeen staff. PERSON SPECIFICATION Essential Criteria Candidates must demonstrate experience of each of the following: 1. Strategy development and devising associated operational plans. 2 .Excellent interpersonal skills including leading negotiations with senior colleagues and stakeholders. 3. Leading successful business development which has resulted in new business and evidence of achieving value for money. 4. Managing a team. 5. Strong financial planning and management skills including experience of producing budgets and financial returns. 6. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. 7. Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel. 8. Risk identification, assessment, mitigation and reporting. 9. Adherence to corporate governance processes and providing assurance to senior management of same. 10. Meeting multiple, complex and competing priorities and deadlines. The successful candidate will be appointed on a permanent contract.  The role will be primarily based at FinTrU House, Belfast and will require travel throughout Northern Ireland.  Please note the successful candidate must have access to a form of transport to carry out the duties of the position.  Confirmation of appointment will be subject to satisfactory completion of a probation period of twelve months. Secondments and part-time working will be considered. Confirmation of appointment will be subject to satisfactory completion of security vetting enquiries and reference enquiries. A reserve list may be maintained for a period of up to 12 months in the event that other comparable roles become available.
