Country Head of Audit

About the Country Head of Audit role:

In this business critical role, as the Country Head of Audit, you will assume the responsibility of Head of Audit for the firm's Life entity while also having oversight of the current Head of Audit for the General entity, based in Kuala Lumpur. You will also be tasked to represent the Regional Head of Audit, Asia for the General entity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Development of a risk based audit plan for the firm's entities as part of the overall Asian Internal Audit Plan and execute the Annual Internal Audit plan within pre-agreed budget and also develop internal audit staffs
• Attend relevant Internal Audit Committees, and ensuring effective communication of risks, issues and trends to Audit Committee members through quality reporting and presentation
• Coordinate the scope of work with external auditors where appropriate and together with the Regional Head of Audit - Asia, manage effective relationship with joint-venture partners and regulators in respect of Internal Audit issues
• Partner with the firms regional office Internal Audit Management to oversee the day-to-day work of regional team members based in Kuala Lumpur

To succeed in this Country Head of Audit, you will need to have the ability to work effectively and cooperatively with stakeholders of various levels, internally and externally, across borders and internal matrix.

Key Requirements:

• Possess a recognised degree with relevance in Accountancy/Finance/Business qualification or significant relevant business experience
• At least 10 years in a finance and/or audit role within the financial service industry
• Possess outstanding interpersonal and management skills with an ability to deal with multiple stakeholders effectively
• Fluent written and spoken English is required; relevant Asian languages is an added advantage
