The candidate must also possess the ability to work both independently and as part of a busy team and build a rapport with the team in order to communicate in an effective and timely manner. The role will be based in Hong Kong, reporting to the Hong Kong based CFO.

Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with Fund Administrator to complete month end NAV for the firm's Funds - including (but not limited to) fund valuation, production of monthly Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Statement of Shareholders Equity, Investor Allocation, and underlying supporting schedules.
  • Prepare monthly and mid-month performance estimates.
  • Maintain internal investor allocation schedules (shadow allocation to Fund Administrator).
  • Work closely with CFO for Daily PNL computation and distribution, as well as month end valuation of the portfolio.
  • Responsible for preparation of annual financial statements, tax filings, and other regulatory filings and requirements.
  • Assist with accumulating and delivering information and transactions to outside administrator for preparation of monthly Fund NAV packages, including but not limited to operating expenses and not trading relates expense and income transactions.
  • Assist in management company accounting tasks which crosses over with fund accounting, and any management company accounting duties as needed.
  • Monitor all cash flows, including: monthly bank reconciliations, intercompany transfers and compliance (liaise with the bank); outgoing wire initiation/approval and cash receipt supervision.
  • Maintain various files and records, ensuring organisation and relevance.
  • Assist in managing all audit and tax engagement activities with outside professionals.
  • Participate in special projects as required and proactively identify and implement improvement initiatives related to accounting processes and internal controls.


Qualifications:
  • Accounting degree.
  • Chartered Accountant or Certified Public Accountant preferred
  • 3-6 years of professional experience.
  • Solid knowledge base of fund and accounting, as well as management company accounting, including understanding of US GAAP and IFRS accounting principles.
  • Solid knowledge of complex financial products (equities, swaps, convertible bonds, options).
  • Excellent organisational, analytical and time-management skills, as well as an ability to motivate and communicate effectively with other members within the company.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to continually monitor processes and procedures to optimise effectiveness of group.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel on an intermediate to advanced level.
  • Motivated individual with the proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects at one time while meeting demanding deadlines.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent verbal and written English.
  • Willing to work overtime and meet tight deadlines
