The ideal candidate will be a part-qualified Accountant currently studying or looking to study towards a recognised qualification.

This role could also be a job-share/part-time if the successful candidate so wishes.

Role

You will be expected to assist the Senior Management Accountant and Finance Manager in ensuring the smooth delivery of the finance service.

  • To assist the Senior Management Accountant in the production of accurate and reliable financial data for budgeting.
  • To assist in the provision of a full range of management accounts.
  • To assist in the development of corporate policies and procedures for budgetary and financial control.
  • To provide assistance in annual revenue budget preparation.
  • Management of budget (forecast) re-profiling and variance analysis.
  • Uploading of revised forecasts to the general ledger; reconciliation of updated ledger and review of consistency of comments provided as part of monthly variance analysis.
  • Assisting in the co-ordination, review and monitoring of year-end adjustment as per the year-end revenue closure process.
  • Assisting in the completion of statutory and other statistical financial returns prepared.

Profile
  • A proven record of achievement academically
  • A self-motivated person possessing the ability to organise themselves and other staff under pressure
  • The candidate must be able to show a high level of computer literacy, with experience in the use of Excel, Word and complex computer-based financial ledger systems.
  • Hold a valid UK Licence and have access to a car.
  • Hold a related business/finance degree or studying/qualified AAT.
