This is a newly-created Deputy Financial Controller role with a leading UK Building and Construction Consultancy Business. They are looking to expand their current finance team by bringing in a Deputy Financial Controller to their City of London Office.

Our client is a well established building and construction consultancy business who are market leaders in their field and oversee large infrastructure development projects within their extensive portfolio, asset value exceeding £3 Billion. Having grown by a mixture of organic and acquisitional means they are looking to continue to assist this growth by creating a Deputy Financial Controller role within their London office.

They have a slick, open plan, City of London Office with a great social atmosphere. It is very much a hardworking and closeknit team within the group function but they have a relaxed and laid back feel and a standard 35 hour working week. As such this offers a great opportunity to progress within a well established UK business.

Description

The Role

This is a newly created role which is a platform to transition into the management of a mixed ability team and will include the key responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the delivery of Management Accounts for a portfolio of projects - directly preparing 3 sets of management accounts for key projects within the portfolio
  • Preparation of Budgets, Analysis and Commentary for Finance Business Partners
  • Partnering with Project Finance Managers
  • Managing a team of Direct Reports - Mixture of part-qualified and qualified
  • Training & Development - develop team to drive productivity and act as lead on further recruitment processes where needed
  • Ad Hoc Improvements - identify process improvements and assist with implementations
  • Profile

    What's Needed

  • Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA
  • Strong Management Accounts Background Within Industry
  • Clear Line Management Exposure - proven ability to manage and develop and upskill teams
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills - ongoing development of effective working relationships to help drive team performance
  • Proactive with a proven ability to perform under pressure
