An experienced Payroll Manager is required by a large PLC business based in Glasgow City Centre.

The Role
This is a standalone role which will be responsible for all Payroll duties within the Group Head Office function. It is a high profile position which requires extensive and detailed knowledge of current payroll legislation and excellent analytical skills
Responsibilities
- Process starters & leavers and maintain reference information.
- Management of all payroll changes e.g. salary changes, bonuses, statutory pay, ad-hoc payments etc.).
- Process share options/Ltips and support the calculation of tax withholding.
- Manage recovery of employee loans & advances (including season tickets, cycle to work etc.).
- Manage pension auto enrollment.
- Support variable data entry of subsidiary company.
- Investigate any anomalies and take appropriate action to rectify any issues prior to commit.
- Prepare payroll for authorisation and commit.
- Liaise with Payroll bureau (ADP) regarding all payroll administration.
- Preparation of P11D’s and submission to HMRC by set date.
- Distribution of P45’s.
- First point of contact for all queries from employees regarding salary and benefits.
- Manage and distribute all payroll documentation to employees.
- Manage payroll liabilities (HMRC, pension contributions, cycle to work, etc.).
- Maintain and continually review payroll controls, especially data transfer with HR.
- Produce routine and ad-hoc reports as required.
- Ensure all work is managed on a confidential basis and is of a high quality and completed within agreed timescales and targets.
Additional Finance responsibilities:-
- Post bank transactions to general ledger and prepare multi-currency bank reconciliations.
- Accounts payable postings to general ledger.
- Balance sheet account reconciliations (especially payroll related)

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following experience:
- Up-to-date knowledge and hands-on experience of dealing with end-to-end Payroll duties within a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of all HMRC regulations and returns is essential
- Experience of processing overseas Payroll and working with multiple currencies would be an advantage
- Excellent analytical skills and an ability to use advanced Microsoft Excel techniques would be beneficial
- You must be comfortable liaising with and presenting to Senior Management
