An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Financial Controller to join a professional, high calibre professional services firm in the City of London.

My client is an SME professional services firm known for its balance of high calibre individuals delivering work of the highest standard with a down-to-earth and collaborative working culture. They have developed an excellent client base and in recent years have evolved their working methods to offer a wider range of services to their clients.

Description

Reporting into one of the Partners as the Financial Controller you will be tasked with running the day-to-day operations of the finance function and leading on improving the management reporting. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading bookkeeping activities and managing transactional finance through a team of 3;

  • Driving monthly reporting to deliver commentary on performance against budget;

  • Produce billings schedules, WIP reporting, and client analysis;

  • Deliver and continually develop KPI reporting to give insight to the partners and support decision making;

  • Take ownership for annual budget preparation and deliver year end reporting;

  • Support HR with payroll procedures/queries and administer auto-enrolment pension with consultants.

Profile

As a strong applicant for this Financial Controller position you will:

  • Be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA);

  • Show a strong background in monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting in an SME environment;

  • Be comfortable operating in a "hands on" capacity and supporting junior members of the team;

  • Professional services sector knowledge and exposure to WIP reporting is highly advantageous;

  • Show strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop positive relationships with senior management.

Job Offer

The offer to the successful candidate will be:

  • £50,000-£60,000 depending on experience;
