Sagicor Bank Jamaica is looking for the ideal candidate to join our SME Business Banking Unit in the position of: SME/Business Banker (Montego Bay) The successful candidate will be required to support the Bank's overall strategic plan by soliciting and acquiring clients related to the targeted market of Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SME) and their related parties. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Build a strong commercial profile in the business community Primarily responsible for SME client acquisition and meeting targets for growth in liabilities, growth in the number of accounts and credit applications. Build a strong commercial profile in the business community Manage and be responsible for a portfolio of SME Clients Drive revenue and manage risk accordingly to reduce costs and increase efficiencies Advise prospects of the company's products and services, inclusive of Credit offerings, as well as negotiate banking strategies terms. Initiate relevant documentation for opening accounts in accordance with the company's guidelines. Prepare credit applications for prospects which include financial analysis and recommendation of terms, conditions, pricing and covenants within the framework of the credit policies and procedures of the Bank. Ensure high level of service is maintained and that credit applications are presented in a professional and timely manner. Review status of existing loans to ensure that they are kept from becoming delinquent (i.e. 30 days overdue) and remedial action is promptly taken. Review the overdraft report daily to ensure that excesses are not created nor limits are not exceeded unless arrangements are previously made and approved by Credit Risk. Meet goals/targets for market share and growth. Target new SBJL clients by cold calling, networking or through an introductory basis established by the Marketing Department or any other means. Conduct presentations to prospective client groups. Responsible for retention and growth of existing customer relationships and new business development through cross selling and referral sources. Manage resolution of client issues, escalating where appropriate. Advise where new product and service development is necessary. Ensure that a high level of client service and satisfaction are maintained. Prepare sales and call reports on performance in a timely basis. Academic Qualifications/Specialized Skills/Competencies: Bachelor's Degree in Management Studies, Finance, Economics or a related discipline from a recognized tertiary institution Minimum of one (1) year's working experience in a business banking environment Ability to engage with clients on both a proactive & reactive basis Track record in credit management, regulatory and operational risk is beneficial Strong selling & negotiating skills Understanding of financial sector, banking instruments and the regulatory environment Business acumen and strong relationship management skills.
