Manager, Accounts Payable KPMG in Jamaica seeks to identify a Manager, Accounts Payable (AP) who will be responsible for managing several direct reports, overseeing a team of at least 20 members, aligned with the following Client AP processes: vendor maintenance, manual invoice indexing invoices, handling exceptions for Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) invoices, monitoring mailboxes and responding to requests, payment processing and verification, remediating aged items and reporting. Essential duties include: Client stakeholder relationship management, monitoring and reporting on operational performance, recruiting and development of staff, maintaining process documentation, managing and resolving escalated issues, and ensuring overall Client satisfaction with the delivery of services. The Manager, Accounts Payable will be assigned to our rapidly growing KPMG Jamaica Extended Support Services (JESS), which provides services to a major client in the United States. Profile The successful candidate should possess strong project and people management experience along with advanced accounting experience. Specifically, the candidate should demonstrate: • strong technical and supervisory skills to lead a department of at least 20 resources performing various receivable activities and support their professional development; • the ability to identify and implement improvements in collaboration with key stakeholders; • the ability to exercise professional skepticism and provide critical insights; and • strong analytical, critical thinking, interpersonal and communication skills. Core functions Reporting directly to the JESS Senior Manager, Finance and Accounting, the Manager, Accounts Payable will supervise the AP department to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with established policies and procedures. Core job responsibilities will be to: • direct, evaluate and plan in collaboration with key stakeholders all activities within the JESS AP work stream, ensuring service delivery that is in line with operational and contractual performance standards; • monitor, analyse and assess the performance of the work stream and recommend and develop procedures or processes to improve efficiency and product quality delivery by the team; • prepare and deliver special and complex reports on performance analysis of the department against contractual parameters and company standards; and • provide leadership, train, coach and develop assigned personnel including setting performance criteria and conducting performance appraisals. Professional qualification The successful candidate should possess: • a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or equivalent professional accreditation; and • a minimum of seven years' progressive and relevant accounting experience , with at least five years' experience in a people management capacity .
