**Financial Accountant – 12 months contract – GBP175 day rate – Public Sector Organisation – East Kilbride**

Our client is a Public Sector organisation based in East Kilbride, Glasgow who are looking for an Interim Financial Accountant to join the Finance Shared Services (FSS) Team on a 12 months contract. Key Responsibilities:
You will support, and lead aspects of, the management and integrity of the General Ledger in conjunction with delivering a comprehensive range of financial accounting services to all business units. You will also be involved leading and supporting the transition of activity from other business units into FSS ensuring all processes and systems are consistent, standardised, efficient and effective. Where applicable you will manage Analysts; supervising, guiding and motivating the team. This position includes engagement with predominantly senior stakeholders within FSS, across the various business units within the wider community and external customers where appropriate. You will need to be confident in engaging with such individuals.

Ideal experience:
Part qualified or newly qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CA) or studying towards this, is an advantage
Ideally come from a Financial Accountant background – Statutory accounting, VAT, balance sheet, Bank accounting
Demonstrate relevant and proven experience preferably within the energy and finance sectors
Understanding of both industry and business processes
Strong numerical, modelling and analytical skills
Maintains a challenging and questioning attitude
Educated to degree level in a finance discipline (or equivalent)
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Knowledge of SAP system or equivalent financial system
The ability to communicate effectively throughout the organisation
The ability to implement and drive improvement initiatives, service levels and reporting
Experience of working in a customer service environment – quickly identify the customer needs and provide an efficient and accurate solution.
You must be proactive, enthusiastic, methodical and adaptable team player with excellent interpersonal and customer focused skills and with an eye for detail
A willingness to take responsibility and assume ownership
The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while handling multiple tasks, exercise good judgment in recognising scope of authority and work collaboratively in a team and on own initiative
