Job role
Our client, a well established and successful business in Stevenage, have a need for a Purchase Ledger/Query Clerk to join their team. The role has arisen as the present incumbent is moving on after being in the role for over 10 years. Many of the team have been with the company for many years, the Supervisor and FC both have 10 + years service. This is testament to how the business has been run, there have been a lot of changes in recent years and the company has grown considerably with a turnover of in excess of £50 million. They are in a strong position in their sector and continue to look at ways they can grow further.

Working in a busy finance team, and reporting into the Finance Supervisor, the duties of the postholder will include the following:
  • Processing supplier invoices
  • Inputting and checking rebates
  • Reconciliations
  • Chasing outstanding credits
  • Dealing with queries
  • Finance administration
  • Ad hoc support to the Supervisor/team as required

The ideal candidate will probably come from a Purchase Ledger background, although this is not a pure ledger clerk role by any means. Good Excel and strong communication skills are very important as you will be building relationships not only with suppliers but internal customers at all levels. You will be detail oriented, solutions driven and have high levels of resilience. Whilst this is a permanent role, and our client will happily wait for candidates on one month's notice, immediately available/candidates available at short notice would be of particular interest.
