This is a leading commodities and structured financing global company with significant business presence in Asia Pacific. Singapore serves as one of its key commercial locations, with a team of high performing experts in commodities structuring. A rare opportunity has arisen for a Regional Financial Controller to lead the finance and controllership team in Singapore.
Reporting to the Global Controller, the Financial Controller will be the main finance business partner for traders and structurers, providing accounting and management information analysis and tools to aid the commercial team in identifying business opportunities and risks in a timely and effective fashion. In addition, the Financial Controller will manage the financial accounting function, including spearheading new finance transformation projects. Due to the complexity of the commercial deals and structures executed, he/ she will be the in-house advisor for all technical accounting matters. This is a managerial position and hence, the Financial Controller is also expected to play an integral role in the team‘s career development.
The successful candidate must have a degree in Accountancy and accounting qualified with 10-15 years of work experience in accounting and controllership, armed with up-to-date understanding of changes in IFRS, controls framework. As this is a senior leadership position, you must have proven track record managing large and diverse teams. Finance candidates who have worked for financial institutions/ commodity trading companies with active commodity structured trade financing activities will have a distinct advantage. You will also have a proven track record managing diverse teams across the region, with a hands-on approach to problem-solving with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
