The Opportunity:
We are currently seeking an Assistant Financial Accountant to join our Finance team and support the Financial Accounting function with their deliverables. You will support the delivery of accurate and timely processes every month in closing the general ledger, assist the Financial Accountant with collating commentary on drivers and help with balance sheet reconciliations. You will work closely with the other members of the team to assist with process improvement opportunities.
What does success look like?
Assisting with the month end close processes for the general ledger
Performing the reconciliation of core Balance Sheet items
Assisting with the maintenance of the Fixed Assets Register
Assisting with the Accounts Receivable allocation of receipts
Assisting in the preparation of the monthly income statement review, including variance analysis
Assisting with year-end audit & the preparation of statutory accounts
Assisting with tax compliance: Income tax, FBT & GST
Supporting the team with the preparation and delivery of a range of regulatory returns
Timely follow-up of outstanding items, including appropriate escalation where required to ensure items are resolved the following month
Identifying opportunities for improvements in current processes and embedding continuous improvement
What will help you succeed?
Part-Qualified/Newly Qualified CPA or CA and Undergraduate degree in Commerce or Accounting
Awareness of the Financial Services industry and key drivers
Advanced level of Excel skills and effective communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build and maintain strong relationships
Proactive and enthusiastic attitude with a focus on process enhancement
Effective time management skills, including the ability to meet deadlines and operate under pressure in a dynamic environment
