The Company:
Aston Carter has been engaged exclusively to recruit for a highly respected market leader based in the Hills district. This company is seeking a technically sound and commercially focussed Assistant Accountant to join their high performing finance team on an initial 6 month fixed term contract with scope for extension. The purpose of the contract is for a maternity leave cover. The opportunity of a handover before the current assistant accountant goes on maternity leave. This is a highly visible and critical role within the business, with the opportunity to work with other like-minded, career focussed individuals in a close knit culture. Ongoing training and development provided for the successful candidate.
The Role:
Reporting to the Financial Accountant, this Assistant Accountant will provide support to a commercially focussed team. The company is strong on compliance and controls, and are looking for a candidate who is not only passionate about timely and accurate reporting, but someone who is highly experienced within balance sheet reconciliations also.
The role will also include;
Strong experience with preparation of balance sheet reconciliations
Month-end duties
Profit and Loss variance analysis and commentary
Preparation of general ledger reconciliations
Subsidies reconciliations
Revenue reporting and recognition
Other ad-hoc reporting as requested
Candidate Profile:
You will have a minimum of 2-3 years experience in a similar Accountant role, ideally in a fast paced business. CA or CPA qualified would be preferred but not required, ideally with large ERP systems exposure. Interpersonally you will have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal). You will possess intermediate to advanced Excel skills (V-lookups and Pivot tables). You will enjoy partnering with the business, and adding decision making value through the integrity of the data you produce. You possess an ownership mentality, and will thrive on making positive changes within the business.
