We have a new opportunity for someone to join the Finance Operations team in Norwich. The role holder will lead change initiatives and projects for Finance Operations to support excellence and improvement to service delivered.

As part of our The Aviva Finance Operations (AFO) Team, under the leadership of our global process owners, you will be partly responsible for our core Finance operational and reporting processes.

You will need to lead your own portfolio of delivery in the following areas:
  • Accountability for delivery and join up of major change programmes and projects impacting operational teams from across the global business
  • Lead and handle change which improves and progresses end to end processes. Drive continuous improvements, efficiencies and deliver shared service benefits
  • Lead implementation and subsequent service delivery of business processes into new channels
  • Work reciprocally to ensure expectations are run and delivered for the business and its customers

About you:
  • You are motivated, a self starter, with experience in driving finance change projects
  • You are strong at building good working relationships with a range of key business partners, including finance and non-finance teams
  • You possess a good delivery track record at delivering projects
  • You have key competencies of change effectiveness, execution, planning and priority setting, and effective relationships building

Your duties & responsibilities:

You'll support global, standard processes across finance operations, applying effective and appropriate control and governance frameworks and may include regular travel to our other UK sites (York, London and Eastleigh). Responsibilities and duties include:

Change
  • Overall accountability for the delivery of key projects, managing prioritisation, scope, deliverables, risks, responsibilities and resources
  • Developing appropriate project management methodology to deliver business requirements to the Operation using defined consistent method

Change Governance
  • Oversight and governance of change activity being delivered within operational teams to drive quality and method of change to ensure effective change implementation
  • Reciprocally manage the overall business change portfolio with accountability for BOW management
  • Completion and maintaining of the compulsory training and adhering to data confidentiality at all times

Performance
  • Collaboratively delivers responsibilities of overall change portfolio, completed accurately, timely and consistently within the agreed SLA's in line with defined method. Report against this as required and raise where tolerances are at risk
  • To lead and drive an efficient and effective service to our customers
  • To professionally and dedicatedly represent the business with wide-ranging partners and be an active advocate of the services we deliver

Your skills, knowledge and experience:
  • Financial Services/General Insurance or similar experience
  • Strong leadership skills to drive project delivery and project team engagement
  • Awareness, understanding and adherence to Risk / Control Management
  • Proven broad experience of problem solving and taking responsibility.
  • Risk managed, effective decision-making
  • Broad knowledge of the businesses processes and systems
