We are currently recruiting for a Financial Controller for SJS Construction based at the Head Office.

This role will report into the Managing Director and you will be responsible for the finance function to ensure financial performance meets targets, budgets and business plan.

This is a pivotal role within the business as they continue to grow and evolve.

This role will offer the individual the opportunity help shape and build the finance team while putting in robust reporting, processes and procedures

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) Financial Controller, ideally from a construction background with proven experience of managing all areas of finance.

You will be involved with preparation of monthly finance reports (P&L, Order book, Forecast), preparing budgets and forecasts, sub contract procurement and payments, cost value reconciliations for all contracts, managing WIP/debtors and all financial management processes.


Monthly Management and Financial Accounts including analysis and commentary

Preparation of budgets and forecasts

VAT Returns

Contract costing reports and reconciling and agreeing to financial accounts;

Financial control of company funds including cash forecasts;

Oversee day to day accounting including wages, cis, supplier invoices, sales and expense claims;

Help with all aspects of business compliance

CITB Grant applications


Preferably specialist / history within the civil engineering – construction sector

Previous experience within a similar role

Qualified Accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA)
