Accounts Assistant position, #2 to Finance Manager in a vibrant, growing business within the events and leisure industry.

Client Details

My client are an owner-managed business in the leisure and events sector. They have a small but tight-knit head office team based in Bristol.

Description

You will work directly for the Finance Manager, undertaking a variety of clerical and financial tasks to ensure the continued smooth running of the business.

This will include:

  • Working with spreadsheets, ledgers and journals.
  • Calculating and checking to make sure payments, amounts and records are correct.
  • Sorting out incoming and outgoing daily post and answering any queries.
  • Managing petty cash transactions.
  • Controlling credit and chasing debt.
  • Reconciling finance accounts and direct debits.
  • Issuing contracts and invoices
  • Dealing with international payments and foreign currencies
  • Using online banking systems
  • Book keeping and updating systems

Profile

The ideal candidate will have 6-12 months finance experience, will have knowledge of Sage/Xero, and will be educated to A-level or degree standard. They will have a sharp enquiring mind and will thrive in a fast-paced industry. They will be reliable, trustworthy and responsible with the attitude to deal with confidential financial information.

This said, we will consider candidates with no practical finance experience who exhibit the characteristics described above, have a demonstrable aptitude for numbers and show a keenness to develop a career in finance.

Job Offer

This role will pay a basic salary of £18,000 minimum, upwards of that depending on skills and experience.
