SF Group are working in partnership with Coventry UK City of Culture 2021 to recruit an Management Accountant role for their growing team. The role is a fixed term post until March 2022.

Formed in 2015, Coventry City of Culture Trust was set up to bid to be UK City of Culture in 2021. Having successfully secured the prestigious title, the organisation are working towards building a team to deliver a number of projects for the city. Coventry is a diverse city where the vision to bring people together is integral. This project is reflective of Coventry's innovation, warmth and invention.

This position is integral in benefiting the City in a major boost in tourism and investment as the organisation will host a spectacular year of events as well as a build-up period and legacy programmes. Given that Coventry will be UK City of Culture in 2021, you will be part of an amazing journey where you will be part of an organisation who will be working in communities, talking to businesses and planning the organisation's programme.

During the bidding period, Coventry city of Culture committed to a number of step changes including:

- £2.5m additional visitors for 2021
- 100 new businesses regularly supporting the arts
- 80% of the population experiencing at least three events
- 20% increase in BAME audiences
- Target of over 16,000 active volunteers and participants

Coventry City of Culture is a registered charity and are located in the heart of Coventry city centre. Although there are plans to move in later this year, the focus very much remains on staying in the City.

Key responsibilities include working on the City of Culture project alongside managing separate projects such as Arts Council and Heritage Lottery Fund which all include individual budgets, management accounts and reporting to funders. The organisation budget annually and produce management accounts which are presented to the Audit, Finance and Risk Committee and then to the Board of Trustees. The organisation use Xero systems and sage payroll.

Your duties will include being responsible for the Trust's management accounts, budgets and reporting the same to a variety of stakeholders. As the ideal candidate you will have strong experience in management accounts preparation, cashflow, budget preparation and control, annual accounts preparation, presenting results to Audit, Finance & Risk Committee, the Executive Director and budget holders. You will also be involved in project accounting, treasury management, reporting to budget holders, liaising with Trust auditors and implementing appropriate controls and ensuring that they are robust and adhered to. You will comply with the Trust's GDPR, Health and Safety and Diversity and Equality Policies.

The successful candidate must be qualified (ACA/ACCA/ACMA/CIPFA) with at least three years hands on experience of preparing management accounts. You will have experience of accounts staff management, be an effective communicator with excellent attention to detail. ideally, you will have a commitment to Arts, Culture and Heritage and have experience of managing trainees. You will be based in or willing to move within a commutable distance from their offices and be a team player.

This is a full time role working 39 hours and holidays are 33 days per annum inclusive of bank holidays.
