Job Summary Our client a small shipping company is seeking to recruit an Accountant, to be based in their St. Lucia office. The incumbent will be primarily responsible for managing the accounting team and the accounting operations of the company across the various territories. Key Responsibilities Design and implement the department's structure to ensure operational efficiency Develop, implement and manage processes to strengthen internal controls and to ensure compliance with accounting best practices to drive the financial and operating capacity of the business forward Establish a system of control over all accounting transactions including bank reconciliations, accounts payable and receivables Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, and report variances Analyze company financials to evaluate the current position of the company's capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations Ensure all monthly and annual financial reports are prepared in a timely manner Manages and trains all direct reports to ensure optimum performance and development Requirements A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Banking and Finance or a similar field ACCA or similar accounting designation would be an asset A minimum of three (3) years' experience in a similar management or supervisory position would be an asset Results driven and proactive Analytical thinker Proficient in Microsoft Office particularly Microsoft Excel Proficiency in QuickBooks Online would be an asset Demonstrable people management skills and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills Must be a resident of St. Lucia To apply, submit your CV To the attention of Niska Best, Human Resources Advisor The deadline for applications is 17 th February 2019
