Salary:GBP50,000 – GBP65,000 per annum (Negotiable based on experience)

My client, a leading Leeds property developer, are looking for an experienced Commercial Property Financial Controller to join their office in Leeds City Centre.

About the role:

The Financial Controller will report directly into the Managing Director and will look after the day to day running of the finance team. This is a high–profile role, with a great deal of senior level exposure and plenty of opportunity to progress around this industry–leading business.
Looking after some of the most iconic developments in Leeds, this exciting role will suit a technically strong, driven, and commercially aware accountant, with a passion for real estate.

Key responsibilities include

• Day–to–day oversight of the finance function, supporting the Managing Director and managing a small finance team

• Oversee the compilation of the monthly account

• Ensure month end is closed on a timely and accurate basis

• To maintain and update profit forecast and cashflow system, ensuring all factors are reflected

• Production of budget

• Ensure departmental accounting standards are maintained and control processes reviewed and enforced

• Facilitate/coordinate department for yearend Audit

• Review and manage performance of Finance Team Members

• Other Ad hoc projects as requested by the Managing Director

• Review general accuracy of site forecasts and maintain overall divisional forecast

• Forecast project cashflow as accurately as possible

• Ensure the correct forecast of build costs and the analysis of risk throughout the procurement cycle

• Review and report on project marketing costs

• Review and control debtors, deposits and progress payments

• Provide project stacks, and ensure financial paperwork is up to date and complete

The ideal candidate will be:

Desirable but not required – ACA qualified (or overseas equivalent)
Real estate knowledge/experience highly desirable
Strong Excel skills
Confident self–starter, with strong communication skills
