Exciting opportunity to implement and oversee the Shared Service finance operations. Reporting into the FD, this will be a pivotal role in great expansion plans and the successful candidate will join at the inception of the SSC to build and develop a first-class function.

Description
- Strong Financial Management ensuring the efficient, accurate and timely processing and recording of transactions whilst maintaining a high level of financial control and governance
- Have ultimate responsibility for accurate accounting records and provide financial reports
- Identify and implement changes to improve working capital
- Develop and comply with corporate timetables and policies
- Ensure that an excellent service is provided through quality input e.g. accurate and timely processing of invoices, banking and payroll transactions
- Ensure the Balance Sheets are an accurate reflection of all the assets and liabilities of the group
- Create and maintain process workflow documentation for all areas under SSC responsibility
- Manage the Accounts Payable and Payroll teams including management of all HMRC related queries
- Oversee daily bank reconciliations and ensure all items are cleared on a timely basis
- Investigate and evaluate integration of other functions into the shared service environment
- Provide focused, innovative and value-adding Management Reporting and Analysis
- Deliver high quality management information and performance measurement that is accurate and relevant
- Develop robust cashflow reporting and management system
- Deliver reporting packs and focused commentary
- Support all external audit requirements
- Ensure national statistics data is delivered in a timely and accurate manner
- Lead the integration of new acquisitions into the shared services function efficiently and effectively
- Optimise and develop systems and processes to improve efficiency and information
- Support the implementation of any Financial Systems
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of Financial Systems
- Ensure training takes place for users; challenge processes to eliminate non-value adding tasks
- Work with colleagues to ensure that errors are corrected at source and processes amended as required, eliminating rather than correcting errors
- Lead, develop and inspire a high-quality Finance Team
- Recruit and retain the best people for the job
- Actively plan for succession to develop and replace individuals effectively
- Aim to maximise efficiency in the Finance function
- Develop effectiveness of the Finance function through continuous training and development of the team. Lead and motivate the team to high levels of performance
Profile
Essential:
- ACA/ICAS/ACCA Qualified
- Top 20 Practice background
- Expert in use of Excel, Word and Outlook
- Strong management, leadership and communication skills
- Comfortable creating and implementing financial control frameworks from scratch
Desirable:
- Experience of FMCG/Retail
