The Financial Reporting & Compliance Manager will be responsible for the Group’s statutory financial reporting and accounting positions, and will assist the Finance Director in managing and monitoring the governance and risk-management function of the group.
Accounting & Financial Reporting
Prepare the annual statutory financial statements (consolidated and stand-alone) for the Group and its entities in compliance with IFRS and local regulatory requirements.
Monitor and update as and when needed the Group’s accounting principles and accounting policy manual in accordance with best practices.
Proactively research, resolve and document complex accounting issues, across all the Group’s business units, including the evaluation and implementation of any new applicable accounting pronouncements to ensure IFRS compliance.
Keep abreast of changes in IFRS as well as local regulation and legislation.
Coordinate with the external auditors for audit planning, audit requirements, audit results and timely completion of the annual and half-year audits.
Timely preparation and submission of the Group Reporting Pack to parent company.
Ensure financial statements are completed and signed within agreed timelines.
Compliance, Internal Control, Enterprise Risk Management and Tax
Assist in the management and monitoring of the Group’s internal control environment: identify finance related process optimization opportunities, remediate lack or absence of controls, policies and procedures or segregation of duties, and implement remediation strategies across the Group.
Assist in managing the Group’s enterprise risk management function (risk identification, assessment, measurement, mitigation, monitoring and reporting).
Ensure that the Group is in compliance with UAE Tax laws and regulations: identify and mitigate tax risks, manage tax compliance by setting deadlines, liaise with external tax advisers for tax compliance and tax audit related work, liaise with IT team for automation of tax return, improve tax processes implementing best practices, manage and coordinate tax audits.
Assist in monitoring and updating the Group’s Delegation Of Authority Policy for better governance and to increase operational efficiencies. Prepare governance report on a regular basis
Manage and monitor the Group wide insurance program for property damage, business interruption, terrorism & sabotage, public and product liability and motor insurance.
General
Meet the requirements of the Group’s independent external & internal auditors by providing the required documents
Perform any other task or project assigned from time to time
