JOB SUMMARY Law is fast growing and dynamic business within EY which is bringing exciting opportunities for our people to join in helping build that growth. We now have an opportunity for a PSL to join our Belfast team but who will be connected with the entire global law team.  The successful candidate will, ideally specialise in Corporate Law with  experience in providing the highest quality technical advice in support of a fast paced legal environment.  , In addition as we move to underpin what we do with our document automation process, for which you will be a key driver, this is similarly an exciting new project to help revolutionise the way in which our lawyers use precedents and create their documents. This wide ranging and exciting role will involve you: assisting the EY lawyers, globally, to develop new materials including new precedents suitable for automation, practical guidance notes and checklists; collaborating with the wider EY Law business, sharing expertise and assisting to identify potential opportunities; and managing and leading the document automation team, establishing good working practices for the team, and a clear workflow of documents to be automated; As part of your role you will also very much be the 'face' of EY Law best practice in knowledgement management and best in class technical expertise. You will also be required to market yourself and the software within the business including tracking its benefits and feedback.  You will help drive forward document automation within the firm through a leadership approach, whilst always ensuring that the high standard of legal documents produced by EY Law is retained. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES As a PSL, you will be very hands-on and active in creating and developing the legal precedents including applying house styles Managing delivery of document automation services by an automation team, using external providers (Contract Express) as required Training, managing and building your documentation team Liaising with our fee earners to: develop a culture of knowledge sharing across the global practice and to ensure that legal and regulatory changes are widely communicated; and understand document structures and inter related issues so that the documents can be automated by designing suitable automation questionnaires Assisting with the creation and dissemination of knowledge and knowhow across the EY global firm. Working with the knowledge team to integrate automated documents into our existing knowledge system Working with and supporting a streamlined automation and testing process that enables the automation of documents to move forward at a significant and sustained pace Training lawyers on precedents and how to use the system Provide support designing and creating automated legal templates Creating and maintaining a guide for creating variables, markup notation, and external definitions to support suites of documents so as to enable new team members to quickly pick up and modify templates created by others PERSON SPECIFICATION KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE A UK qualified lawyer who has been extensively involved in domestic and cross-border transactions, with a good understanding of the structure, complexity and organisation of complex legal documents and the variable parts of them. 5 years Post Qualifications Experience (PQE) Experience as a PSL is a definite advantage. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office 2010 and above and house style application as well as an appreciation  of modern technologies Experience in document automation would be an advantage Strong teamwork, management and organisational skills Ability to communicate and present effectively Aptitude for problem solving using logic Strong attention to detail and working at a very detailed level is most important Experience in project planning and working with a projects / management board Experienced in content or document management systems Excellent verbal and written communication skills Other European languages not essential but would be a benefit The ability to handle many assignments in a fast paced organization Who we are EY is committed to being an inclusive employer and we are happy to consider flexible working arrangements.
