The company have a commercial edge and great benefits, Based in central Ipswich they are looking for someone with good base Management Accounting experience and the right attitude to improve the commercialisation of finance.


Main purpose / scope of the role

The Management Accountant is responsible for all aspects of property accounting within a designated portfolio of properties. This role will work closely as part of a team with other Finance colleagues to ensure efficient and accurate accounting of their customer and company funds.

Key Responsibilities

  • Property finance budgeting and forecasting
  • Review of property level Income and Expenditure figures in line with the month end timetable.
  • Process any month end adjustments as required
  • Investigate variances and action corrections
  • Process post month end adjustments
  • Produce reports for monthly financial review meeting.
  • Loading Service Charge and budgets to the system
  • Business partnering to investigate and resolve customer queries within the agreed KPI/SLA's.
  • Attend client meetings
  • Billing and raising adjustments along with adhoc property charges billing related activities including:
  • Review of interim billing reports to assist in ensuring bills are issued to customers in an accurate and timely manner. Obtain approval from SPM's.
  • Investigation of items appearing on the billing Exception reports
  • Regular review of expenditure allocations per property and process any correcting journals.
  • Service Cost Centre (Payroll) allocations to properties
  • Complete year end service charge and income and expenditure reconciliations.
  • Financial modelling/cost analysis for customers.
  • Profile

    Management Accountant characteristics and experience;

  • Prior experience in an equivalent Management Accountant role.
  • Part qualified or qualified by experience Accountant
  • Detailed understanding of property accounting terminology
  • Previous experience in the following areas: Billing, VAT, Reporting, Invoicing and payments
  • With year end and service charge experience desirable but non-essential if someone has transferable skills
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics NAV system or equivalent Accounting system
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in an equivalent Accounting and finance focused role
  • Personal commitment to delivering a high quality service
  • Ability to establish and adhere to deadlines.
  • Well organised, able to prioritise tasks and work under pressure
