Part time Credit Control / Accounts Assistant – Oakley EMS ( part of GTO Engineering)– Hare Hatch, Reading
– emphasis of role : Credit Control
12–15 hours per week ( 3 hours per day x 5 days or 3 hours per day x 4days )
Job summary
This role is part of a team delivering Engineering projects ( eg Factory fit outs ) and supplying bearings belts and other engineering supplies for customers in sectors ranging from transport and aerospace to distribution and food chains. The Accounts Assistant is responsible for providing cash flow services and information in accordance with the principal responsibilities listed below.
Principal responsibilities
* Daily cash flow forecasting so as to provide information to facilitate prioritization of payments to be made to suppliers
* Contacting customers when payments are overdue
* Setting up and maintaining customer files
* Handle supplier questions and manage expectations in line with cash flow status
* Processing payments to suppliers
* Provide input to payroll via the Primo system
* Understand other key roles within the team and provide cover, when required
* Handle queries and resolve issues which may arise relating to accounting queries or processes.
* Gather and generate data reports from in–house systems and databases and provide to the Branch Manager
* General office administration including answering calls, making calls and other communication as required
* Opening post and sorting invoices ready for processing by Oakley
Experience required
* This role will suit a candidate who has credit control experience, ideally in an engineering environment
* Experience of working in a small company accounts team, where credit control is part of the job scope along with other accounting and administrative responsibilities
Technical skills and specialized knowledge
* Good keyboard and computer / systems skills and knowledge including Microsoft Office and a variety of databases with quick and accurate data search and entry skills
* Knowledge of Xero and/or Sage accounting systems
Educational attainment and qualifications
?? 5 GCSE including Maths and English (A–C grades)
