Payroll Officer

FMCG business on the outskirts of Milton Keynes looking for an experienced Payroll Officer. Exciting opportunity for a payroll officer that would want to eventually move into an accounts role.

Description

Payroll Officer responsibilities:

• Ensuring Monthly and Weekly payroll are delivered in a timely and accurate manner
• Reconciliation of payrolls and preparation of journals for posting.
• Processing new starters, changes and leavers on ADP and maintaining employee records
• Ensuring adequate and effective policies, processes, procedures and systems are in place to maintain service levels, making suggestions and recommendations to adapt where necessary.
• Working closely with the Payroll Provider
• Manage pension contributions
• Completion of adhoc projects and tasks as required.

Profile

Payroll Officer Requirements:

• 1-2 years minimum payroll experience
• Ability to work calmly and productively within tight deadlines
• Proven experience on managing your own workload
• Strong Communication skills
• Self-motivated, proactive, adaptable, resourceful and able to apply initiative to work independently as well as contribute to the effectiveness of a larger function
• An understanding of UK tax and benefits legislation's
• Organisational skills, working flexibly and prioritising workload and work towards deadlines
• Experience of a fast paced environment
• Strong attention to details
• IT and data skills including extensive use of Excel
• ADP would be preferred
