Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Manager of Decision Support, the Ambulatory Services Financial Analyst will prepare and interpret financial, statistical, and market trends to support the Emerson Practice Associates physician group and Ambulatory Service Line development. This position will have a dotted line reporting relationship to the VP of Physician Practices and the Director of Ambulatory Service Line Development.

The Analyst position requires a person with a strong analytic capability, intellectual curiosity and an interest in being part of healthcare provider organization. This position requires attention to detail, strong technical skills, strong communication skills, good business sense, and the ability to work as part of a team in a matrix environment.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Strong quantitative and analytic skills, with attention to detail and the ability to independently produce clear financial analysis of complex issues.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Experience with financial modeling.
  • Accounting skills necessary to prepare and evaluate financial data.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to break down and explain complex analytic issues and present findings and recommendations to various levels of management.
  • Ability to work independently. A self–motivated and resourceful attitude, taking intellectual ownership of one's work. Proactive in identifying issues, prepared to address concerns/questions, makes recommendations.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration required.
  • Experience:
    • Three years of experience in accounting, budgeting and financial analysis required; such experience in a healthcare–related setting is preferred
  • Skills:
    • Motivated, self–starter who is interested in learning and developing skills related to the Analyst role.
    • Very strong financial analysis skills.
    • Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
    • Ability to manage, organize, prioritize, and multi–task.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Excellent customer service skills.
    • Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
    • Ability to maintain confidential information.
