Our Client is one of the world’s top financial services players, with businesses in retail, corporate and investment banking. It is looking to hire a Vice President (Tax) for its ASEAN Tax team based in Singapore.
Reporting to the Executive Director for Group Tax, you will head up the regional tax function for the wealth management businesses. This entails ensuring that the tax risk within the Southeast Asia region is well contained and within reasonable limits. Besides this, you will provide tax advisory support to the wealth management businesses and influence business, entity, liquidity and capital management strategies to factor in tax considerations. You will assist and review the work of the various country tax teams when required. You will take the lead in facing off to the tax authorities in different jurisdictions and work with external stakeholders such as professional parties (tax agents, auditors, lawyers).
Ideally, you have a degree in Accountancy or Law, with at least 12 years of tax experience within the banking industry. You have knowledge of internal tax legislation, particularly within the Southeast Asia region, and have an excellent understanding of banking products and regulations. You have excellent stakeholder management skills, and are able to simplify complex tax matters for business stakeholders.
