PLANT ACCOUNTANT - Eldoret

Reporting to the Plant Controller, the Plant Accountant will develop and maintain effective & efficient plant inventory and accrual systems that ensure sound controls at the site.

• Experience Length: 2 years

Job Description

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Perform daily inventory reconciliations.
2. Maintain monthly stock taking and reconciliation procedures for the plant.
3. Ensure inventory variances are fully investigated, approved and booked on a timely basis.
4. Prepare daily and monthly inventory holding reports and hi-light deviation from optimum levels on a timely basis.
5. Ensure inventory controls are strictly adhered to and hi-light any deviations.
6. Maintain the plant fixed assets register.
7. Monitor all petty cash for the plant and manage all everyday disbursements.
8. Receive and dispatch supplier invoices to the head office.
9. Maintain the plant accruals and journals system.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

• A university graduate in a business-related field
• Part qualified accountant (CPA II, ACCA level II, or equivalent)
• Computer literate with a working knowledge of SAP, spread sheets and other MS office applications.
• 2 years' work experience in a manufacturing environment, with a track record of compliance / reconciliation achievement.
• Commercial awareness.
