The Financial Controller will be a senior member of the Finance department and jointly responsible for ensuring that Finance meets all external/internal reporting deadlines and other departmental objectives. Job Description Altus Partners is working with a fast growing Private Equity backed Media company that is looking for a dynamic and agile Financial Controller to work closely with the CFO in implementing new systems and functions. The Financial Controller will be a senior member of the Finance department and jointly responsible for ensuring that Finance meets all external/internal reporting deadlines and other departmental objectives. The Role The role will report and work closely with a driven and enthusiastic CFO and other areas of the business. The Financial Controller position is a hands–on role with responsibility for overseeing the efficient running of a busy operational team of a growing and dynamic business. Cash and month end management will be fundamental aspects of the role. * Manage month end process * Ensure that company financial systems are robust, compliant and support current activities and future growth * Statutory and Financial reporting and assistance with deciding accounting policy * Preparing monthly Management Information pack * Responsible for sales ledger, purchase ledger, general ledger, Fixed Asset ledger * Cash management and forecasting * Treasury * Payroll accounting * Audit co–ordination * Oversee VAT returns * Assist with introduction of internal control framework * Coordinate monthly balance sheet reconciliations The Requirements The desired candidate will be a driven and enthusiastic team player with strong technical abilities and has worked in a fast growing environment. * ACA (or equivalent) / ACCA / CIMA qualified * At least 5 years of post–qualified experience in a similar role * Commercially astute, dynamic, articulate and technically strong. * An influential leader with the ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels. * High integrity and openness combined with commitment to good governance. * Experience of working for an SME during high growth * Demonstrable experience of building and developing finance teams * Experience of Financial Force * Experience of high growth businesses * Ability to "get stuck in" to get things done in the short term * Systems change–over/implementation experience * Ability to "translate" and explain finance issues to non–finance colleagues * Ability to interactively switch between micro–detail and strategic/ "helicopter" view on topics whilst understanding the end to end business impact of proposals/ideas/solutions.
