Are you a finance professional seeking a challenging and rewarding opportunity? The Central Life Sciences finance team is searching for a Financial Analyst for our office in Schaumburg, IL. This highly–visible business partner will deliver comprehensive analysis, planning, and reporting support for finance, division, and corporate executive management. The Financial Analyst will be responsible for compiling and analyzing financial information, consolidating financials, performing variance analyses, account reconciliations, and completing special projects.?

  • Aids in the compilation and analysis of various financial statement components including sales, gross profit, EBIT, brand/product profitability, and company expenses for all product lines within the six market segments comprising the $135MM Professional brands portfolio (Specialty Ag, Feed Additives, Farm & Ranch, Active Ingredients, Pest Control, and Disease Vector).
  • Enhances and/or develops financial statement models to compare actual results to budget and prior year.Performs and explains all material variances.
  • Liaises with colleagues across Life Sciences divisions to consolidate and update financials for total Life Sciences, which represents approximately $250MM in revenues.Transmits all actual and planned results to Central Garden &Pet corporate.
  • Assists with the business unit?s annual budgeting process and ensures adherence to company timelines and objectives.
  • Collaborates with business unit management to leverage detailed sales demand forecasts.
  • Partners with both business teams and functional leads to develop detailed operating expense plans.
  • Works closely with business management to catalog, calculate, and accrue rebate and commission programs for the Professional brands division.
  • Supports month–end close process through preparation of journal entries, P&L analysis, and written commentaries.
  • Collaborates with the accounting team on initiatives, providing support as needed.
  • Partners with SAP and Business Intelligence teams to leverage company ERP systems to enhance financial analyses.
  • Responds to ad–hoc requests and analyses, and manages special projects as requested.
  • Bachelor?s degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA or CPA a plus
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of financial planning and analysis experience
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including knowledge of Pivot Tables and V–Lookup?s
  • Cognos/Business Intelligence experience a plus
