Michael Page Finance are pleased to be partnering with a Bristol based charitable organisation to appoint a Senior Management Acountant in to their team to lead on the production of the organisations financial management information and reporting.

As a member of the management team you will be responsible for shaping and delivering outstanding services working with and through a team of dedicated staff and customers.

As a member of the management team you will be responsible for shaping and delivering outstanding services working with and through a team of dedicated staff and customers.

You will be responsible for ensuring that the activities and strategies within your area contribute towards the vision, mission, values and strategic direction of the organisation and to deliver against the organisations charitable objects.

Description

  • Manage the monthly management accounts timetable to ensure timely and accurate reporting to trustees, senior management, budget holders and other groups.
  • Design and continually improve the format and content of the monthly reporting pack to maximise stakeholder engagement.
  • Meet with budget holders on a regular basis in order to raise financial awareness across the organisation, improve the integrity of the financial information and assist decision making.
  • Present monthly reports at Management Team, directorate meetings and ad hoc meetings in an informative and engaging manner.
  • Manage the Exchequer chart of accounts.
  • Prepare regular KPI reports on finance department processing.
  • Motivate and inspire your service area through strong leadership; coaching and developing staff to achieve their full potential.
  • Accountable for the performance of their service area including; translation of organisational strategy into annual planning, budget setting, risk and compliance management.
  • Co-ordinate in year budget re-forecasting, including payroll re-forecasting, to assist decision making.
  • Design and maintain regular cashflow forecasts.
  • Manage the annual budget cycle including the design and distribution of budget setting guidance and budget proformas.

  • Work with budget holders in setting realistic and affordable draft budgets.
  • Profile

  • Qualified CCAB Accountant e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA
  • Experience in financial accounting including the completion of year end statutory accounts.
  • Knowledge of the accounting and reporting requirements of a charity.
  • Significant experience in management accounting including budget setting, cashflow and management accounts.
  • Significant experience of relaying financial information to non-finance staff
  • Good working knowledge of VAT rules & principles.

    • Basic salary of £33-38,000 depending on experience.
