This is a senior position within a growing Payroll department, for a leading South West organisation

Client Details

My client are the fastest growing organisation in the South West, with an expanding finance department which can offer unrivalled progression opportunities.

Description

Previous payroll experience is essential, ideally payroll knowledge that includes journal reconciliation.

Key responsibilities:

  • Preparing the monthly payments calendar for payrolls and additional monthly items
  • Helping the payroll team with guidance and support for the sites on the parallel run process
  • Helping manage the email and phone queries for the adherence to department SLA's
  • Helping the payroll team with guidance and support for the surgeries on the hive-up process
  • Entering payments into the banking system
  • Posting payments into the Finance systems
  • Processing monthly payroll journals in a timely and accurate manner, minimising review points at the balance sheet stage
  • Liaising with the relevant Management Accountants regarding payroll and PAYE Balance sheet queries and ensuring all matters are resolved, and nothing older than 30 days remains on the balance sheet as at month-end
  • Raising of manual paperwork for payments; Payroll, AEO & PAYE

Profile

Essential

  • Able to work to a high degree of accuracy
  • Payroll knowledge to the point of journal reconciliation
  • Experience of creating payroll journals
  • Experience of journal creation (excel)
  • Strong excel skills including V look ups and pivot tables
  • Confident dealing with a high volume workload
  • Clear and confident communication skills
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Flexible approach to work
  • A strong team ethic
  • Ability to take the lead within the team, in the absence of other senior team members
  • Be a go-to person for queries within the team

Desirable

  • Experience of Open Accounts would be an advantage
  • Completed AAT level 4
  • Currently / started studying CIMA or equivalent

Job Offer

This role will pay a basic salary of up to £27,540.
