A Chief Finance Officer opportunity for a £100m turnover, international FMCG manufacturing and trading business. A diverse role for a privately owned business than has grown substantially over the last 10 years. Greater Manchester.

Client Details

My exclusive client is a leading FMCG, manufacturing and international trading business that has witnessed a successful growth period over the last 10 years. With operations in the UK, Europe and Asia, their head office is based in Greater Manchester, with 250 employees in the UK. This role sits on the Board of Directors, reporting to the CEO and Chairman, leading financial and commercial strategies across 5 trading businesses. The business has a EBITDA of £10m, and is searching for organic and acquisition growth opportunities both in the UK and internationally. They are seeking a talented Chief Finance Officer.

Description

Sitting on the Board of Directors, reporting to the CEO and Chairman, this is a diverse Chief Finance Officer / leadership role and requires an individual with substantial exposure at this level. Working closely with the CEO, COO, HRD, and International MD's, the role will help shape the strategy plans of the businesses, and support the commercial and operational developments of an already successful business, with realistically optimistic growth strategies.

Duties include:

  • Leading a sizeable finance function, and the usual financial mechanics to provide the business with accurate MI, and ensure regulatory standards are met (EU in particular).
  • Company Secretary duties, and supporting the owners planning objectives.
  • Oversight of audit, annual and monthly accounting requirements (via Group FC and team).
  • Key liaison for International MD's, across 5 subsidiaries.
  • Develop the 3 year business plan.
  • Key stakeholder for banking relationships, across 32 territories.
  • Treasury management, with significant FX oversight (particularly Dollar, Euro, Sterling - but also Asian currencies)
  • Manage the subsidiary tax compliance (using external advisers where required)
  • Leading all financial due diligence over potential acquisitions, either UK based or overseas.
  • Lead systems and MI development (ERP, FMCG exposure an advantage).

Profile

Due to the nature of this role, applicants are required to have extensive board level experience, and a high level of leadership exposure. Candidates must be ACA, CIMA or ACCA qualified, and ideally have success working for a similar Manufacturing, R&D, Supply Chain, Trading type business.

Candidates need to have operated, and been successful in commercial Finance Director remits previously. Success of integrating acquisitions, and supporting the development of international businesses is essential.

Whilst candidates need to be technically astute, particularly given the international trading, tax and treasury elements of the business, this is also a very commercial/operational role - where, sitting on the Board of Directors, the CFO will be very active in the strategic direction and activities of the various trading business.

Job Offer

Basic Salary of £120,000 - £130,000 (negotiable if an outstanding option), Fully expensed Car, 10% Pension, Private Healthcare, potential equity option (LTIP), annual bonus (profit/performance related). Greater Manchester.
