As the financial controller you will be responsible for leading the finance and allocations team to both implement controls, maintain quality ledgers, produce accounts complete and on time, through target setting and performance management. This role will also require that a high level, fit for purpose set of financial controls are in place to match both business controls set by the business as well as aligned to business strategy.

Description

Financial Reporting

  • To liaise with external advisors on the preparation of statutory financial information working within timelines presented to and agreed by the board as well as other key stakeholder requirements.

  • To lead and manage the preparation of annual statutory Accounts from complete and accurate ledgers, timetable management and engagement / sign off from all stakeholders.

Cash Management

  • To ensure that fit for purpose controls are in place for the management of all bank accounts and other cash mechanisms across Giant Group.

  • To provide timely updates of cash balances and ensure weekly forecasting processes are in place to brief relevant board members and/or senior management.

Financial Control

  • To propose, implement and review company internal controls to ensure that are aligned to both business values and objectives and consider controls to govern the financials of the business.

Team Leadership

  • To effectively manage the finance and allocations team to ensure that all Finance team objectives are being effectively delivered and managed.

  • To manage and develop finance team members as part of their ongoing personal development and appraisal plan.

Profile

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
  • Strong understanding of accounting standards
  • Ability to interpret and prepare financials from trial balance stage through to management or financial accounts.
  • The ability to challenge the status quo and drive through changes
  • Impeccable communication skills, ability to communicate clearly both written and verbal, confident communicating at all levels both internally and externally
  • Ability to work within a team structure and understand the importance of team work in relation to achieving desired goals and outcomes
  • First class organisational skills with experience of managing multiples priorities simultaneously

Job Offer
