Overall purpose of role

The role has various responsibilities within the Finance Control area. It includes analysis of cluster level balance sheets and presentation to senior management in Treasury and the business; acting as controls and risk event co-ordinator; supporting the preparation and review of the STDF returns for Treasury business areas and presenting to senior business stakeholders.


This role is also responsible for net investment hedging ('Honi') activities within Treasury Finance. This includes: monthly analysis and verification of currency open positions and CET1 sensitivity, monthly analysis and booking of the Honi P&L, operating associated controls and reconciliations, presenting Honi results and proposals to the Treasury business and supporting them with queries and projects.



Key Accountabilities


Finance Control
  • Oversee the production of cluster level balance sheets, working closely with right-shored teams in India, and presenting to senior Treasury and Business management

  • Own regular control reporting for Treasury Finance including Risk Events, Items at Risk and the Summary of Unadjusted Differences

  • Act as EUDA coordinator for Treasury Finance
  • Working closely with Risk colleague, support delivery of the PRA STDF (Stress Testing Data Framework) returns, including analysis of outputs, preparing review packs, presenting to business stakeholders


HONI
  • Monthly update of fx hedging positions, verification and explanation of material movements

  • Proposing new and amended hedging trades to ensure open position within agreed limits

  • Presenting positions and proposals to senior stakeholders within CALM and Risk

  • Analysis of month end fx pl, investigating differences, production of MI and commentary

Person Specification

Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:

  • Qualified accountant
  • Strong analytical, accounting and technical ability
  • Excellent communication skills, able to present complex issues confidently to senior stakeholders

  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Proactive and willing to take full ownership of deliverables
