Job Description - Qualified Accountant
Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting which includes
Oversee month end & year end books close process
Review of Financial statement and presenting to controllers
Preparation of consolidation report in HFM including web form commentaries for material variance and provide insight on key statistical information
Prepare and present Managing director report
Joint Venture performance reporting
Royalties calculation and accounting and per the contract agreed with JV partners
Cash Forecasting and cash call report to JV partners
Native title payment calculation and per the agreement
Coordinate and complete annual audits:
• Preparation of Statutory financial statements as per IFRS & UK GAAP
• Preparation of cash flow statement
• Preparation of Shareholders Comprehensive Income Statement
• Notes to accounts
• Coordinating and responding to audit queries
Prepare and submit key information to the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS Survey)
Review and submit Indirect Tax filing which includes GST filing and Fuel Tax Credit filing
Review work performed by Offshore teams
Ensure adequate controls are in place and compliance to SOX and local GAAPs
Managing the relationship with business partners and cross functional teams independently
Ensure compliance with adequate internal controls, SOX standard and client's accounting
Policies
Provide analysis of the monthly, quarterly and annual financial results that will serve for external and management reporting
Ensure inventory and sales figures are accurate
Partner with the Business Serv. & Support team to enhance financial services provided to the BU
Support the controllership function initiative to standardize and optimized its processes
Manage requests to/from various stakeholders
Provide the required information for internal & external audits
Support ad hoc projects or initiatives
Solve complex problems and recommend solutions.
Contribute to process improvements.
Provide informal guidance to junior staff in the team
What you will need for this role
To be successfully considered for this role, we are looking for an experienced accountant that has a will have:
* Bachelor Degree with Concentration in Business Management, Finance or Accounting, CPA or equivalent
* Minimum of 5-9 years of experience in a similar role
* All other pertinent experience and training will also be considered
* Have a mindset to globalize, standardize and improve Finance processes ( excellence mindset)
* Good communication and reporting skills (presentation, status reports, KPI, fact based analysis)
* Good Organization skills to ensure prioritization of activities
* Strong customer service skills (Relationship and stakeholder management) and ability to influence stakeholders
* Experience within and/or exposure to shared services (captive and outsourced) will be an asset
* Extensive knowledge of SAP and experience with HFM. Business processes (such as General Accounting, Accounts Payable/Receivable, Financial Planning & Reporting, Intercompany Accounting and Analytics) is highly desirable
* Problem Solver - seeking relevant information to analyze issues and problems to produce effective solutions to problems
* Excellent written, communication, and presentation skills.
* Ability to analyze and define business problems, to identify appropriate operational or process solutions.
* Ability to work on a global level highly desirable.
* Business Improvement mindset and skills
* Strong technical skills in MS Office suite, proficiency in excel is a plus
* Ability to adapt to change, and the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
