Resource Deployment Manager - UK&I - Assurance - Perm - Luton

In this pivotal role, you will be part of UK&I Resource Management which is recognised as an integral enabler to the growth of business.

The opportunity

The Resource Deployment Manager is a key member of the Service Line (SL) Resource Deployment team and wider UK&I Resource Deployment network. This role is based in Luton but has responsibility across both Luton and Cambridge offices, for circa 150 client handling staff, and will need travel to our Cambridge office on a weekly basis. The role encompasses the following:
  • Manage optimal demand and supply management for resourcing projects and advise on the appropriate commercial drivers for Sub Service Line (SSL) engagements
  • Manage demand fulfilment in line with utilisation, chargeable hours, margin, revenue, client quality and employee engagement targets for SSL/SL team
  • Use knowledge of the SL, clients and people's capabilities to proactively advise Engagement Leads and Partners on resourcing solutions
  • Monitor Resource Deployment team's performance against SLAs and identify opportunities to enhance performance and address any area
Direct reporting line to the SL Resource Deployment Lead.
Direct line management of 2 Resource Deployment Consultants.



Your key responsibilities

Drive and manage resourcing performance
  • Responsible for overseeing resource deployment of SSL teams
  • Manage senior client portfolios or more complex SSL business areas
  • Key member of the SSL Operational Management team, contributing to weekly/monthly meetings focused on resourcing performance and owns actions to improve results
  • Proactive liaison with SSL Engagement Partners, Directors and Managers to understand client requirements and the wider needs of the business to facilitate effective resourcing decisions
  • Deal with escalated resourcing issues and make decisions on conflicting demands, liaising with other members of the Resourcing team as required
  • Understand the skill sets and proactively deploy individuals to areas where optimal utilisation can be achieved
  • Provides SSL insights to SL Resource Deployment Lead on business performance and discuss trends, interventions and actions to improve results being led by Resource Deployment Manager
  • Feed insight to the Strategic Resource Lead to understand the future workforce landscape of the SL and ensure the Resource Deployment team is equipped to respond to the changing needs of the business
  • Manage annual productivity targets with SSL teams to drive performance
  • Work with SL Resource Deployment Lead (and SSL Operations where relevant) to input on SSL budgets to capture accurate headcount and chargeability phasing and flagging any concern areas before finalisation on these metrics
  • Proactively monitor SSL pipeline with local stakeholders
  • Support and implement continual improvement of resource deployment processes
  • Support and implement best practice approaches across the Resource Deployment team

Create an Exceptional Team
  • Lead and participate in Resourcing function team meetings, performance development requirements and training to develop the function
  • Involved in both SL and UK&I Recruitment of all Resource Deployment roles
  • Lead on cross SL Resource initiatives

  • Business acumen to challenge the commercial drivers of resourcing decisions and demonstrate wider cross service line perspective to deliver results

To qualify for the role you must have

  • The ideal candidate will demonstrate considerable experience in commercial resourcing, recruitment or operations environment that can demonstrate adaptability to the role

  • Professional services experience
