Finance Data Analyst
This leading NSW Government Department is seeking to engage a Finance Data Analyst. You will provide detailed data extraction and data analysis for the Operating and Capital Expenditure framework, including detailed expenditure variance analysis and reviews.
Key Accountabilities
Produce data extracts and reports
Performs quality assurance for data integrity and accuracy
Identify errors, inconsistencies and anomalies in the data and possible causes
Condense information and transform technical data into easily understandable outputs
Business analysis using various techniques, e.g. statistical analysis, explanatory and predictive modelling and data mining
Develop appropriate business test cases, validate results to ensure minimal risk and zero-defect solutions are developed to meet the needs of the business
About You
Strong experience with SQL
Strong experience with SAP Financials, HR and Payroll
Strong Excel experience
Have hands on experience of handling vast amounts of data
Develop raw data reports as needed ensuring appropriately tested and fit-for-purpose
Experience in dealing with large sums of data extraction and manipulation from source systems
Ability to deep dive for data dissemination and data analysis to understand the quality of Expenditure data (OPEX & CAPEX), etc and interpret results.
Ability to identify the root causes of poor-quality data and recommend controls to rectify the issues to improve the quality of expenditure data.
