We are looking for someone with life insurance taxation experience who is attentive to detail and will work collaboratively to build strong working relationships across Finance and the business units.
The role will include both life and general insurance taxation responsibilities, though the primary focus will be on life insurance taxation.
Key responsibilities of this role include:
- To ensure the organisation complies with its life insurance taxation obligations and can meet the expectations of the Board and the ATO
- To build relationships with the life insurance business units to ensure taxation policies and procedures are in place and are being followed
- To review transactions and systems that feed into the monthly BAS return
- To conduct GST apportionment analysis
- To prepare life insurance schedules for the annual income tax return
- To prepare monthly stamp duty returns
- Tax accounting for the quarterly and annual financial accounts
- Remitting of withholding and PAYG taxes including the annual reporting obligations
The key skills & experience required for this position are as follows:
- A minimum of three years working in tax accounting and compliance, with strong and proven experience within the Life insurance area.
- CPA/CA qualified
- A strong knowledge of tax accounting and an ability to resolve complex issues
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Exceptional time management and prioritisation skills
- High level of attention to detail
