Operating across a wide range of disciplines and sectors, they are looking to take on an ambitious Finance Manager for their Local Government finance function in Barnet, London. Description
The finance manager will be responsible for the running of the day-to-day finance function out of the Barnet office in London. The responsibilities will include:
- Monthly reporting
- Pushing service line reviews every month
- Overlooking forecasts, and ensuring they are realistic
- Review of WIP and debt, and completion of income and recover-ability
- Assessment and management of risk, both for the business and for finances
- Management of the annual process surrounding business planning and the communication of these plans to the wider group
- Supporting, training and guiding profit centre managements around financial matters
- Processing invoices, both accounts receivable and payable
- Producing commercial feedback for the business in the form of contract lifetime forecasts
Profile
The successful candidate for this role will need to have the following:
- ACCA/CIMA qualification
- The drive and know how to take ownership of processes within the finance function
- The ability to work independently
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - must be able to 'tell the story behind the numbers' to stakeholders who lie outside the finance team
- A decent know-how of Excel
- 'Bigger picture' mindset, as well as an attention to detail
- A truly hands on approach
- Experience with SAP would be helpful, but not necessary
