Key Accountabilities:

  • This role is to assist the Financial Controller in performing General Ledger controls and Regulatory reporting function in Singapore
  • Primarily in charge of the maintenance and control over the data in General Ledger (“GL”) including all aspects of risk management and accounting controls.
  • Perform specific review of daily GL reports, nostro reconciliations, interco reconciliations and prepare journal entries for upload into GL.
  • Liaise with Head Office to create new or correct GL lines and categories for new products/activities
  • Prepare draft financial statements for external auditors and manage external audit process
  • Assist to provide accounting estimates for each reporting period. The accounting estimates include amount for collective impairment provision, tax provision and other accruals.
  • Be both an individual contributor and leader in the Accounts Payable/Receivable process
  • Liaise closely with Credit Department and Loan Administration Department to maintain accurate numbers for the Branch's undrawn commitments and collateral values for reporting purposes.
  • Prepare clear workings for quarterly GST submission and the annual Income Tax Return.
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
  • Participate in the UAT of various accounting projects, e.g. Data Warehouse. Maintenance of GL and Oracle chart of accounts, Customer listing and the respective products, segments and industry mappings.
  • Develop and document business processes to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Facilitate and support other financial reporting functions within the Financial Control Department.

Qualifications & Experience:

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Degree in Accounting/Finance/Commerce or professional qualification, with at least 5 years of working experience in a similar capacity
  • Experience in various internal control functions of a Bank's Financial Control Department
  • Prior experience in preparing financial statements required
  • Project UAT Experience is preferred
