Description
As Assistant Accountant reporting into the Finance Manager, your role is to provide support across the accountancy function, bridging the gap between transactional processing and monthly reporting. Key duties will be:
- Assisting in the production of monthly management accounts, P&L analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, and cash flow forecasting
- Posting accruals and prepayments
- KPI reporting and analysis, producing MI reports to be distributed across the business
- Assisting in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual forecasts
- Variance analysis, with investigation and explanations
- Assisting in the annual budgeting process
Profile
To be considered for the Assistant Accountant role, you must meet the following criteria:
- AAT qualified/finance graduate OR studying early stages of CIMA/ACCA
- Some exposure working in a management accounts environment, able to post accruals and prepayments
- Highly proficient in IT systems and Excel (able to use look ups, pivots etc)
- Good communication skills and able to liaise effectively with non-finance people
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ambitions to progress into more senior roles in the future
