CAMBODIA | Pro Bono Accountant at NGO inspiring youth with Hip Hop & Graffiti Art | 2-3 weeks

Unique opportunity for accountant (ACCA - or equivalent) to gain international experience & build financial management capacity of this inspiring youth project for 2-3 weeks.

Our partner provides a safe environment for street and other vulnerable children and youth from some of Cambodia’s most impoverished neighbourhoods, using the culture of hip hop to engage and inspire them, and allow them to experience a life free from drugs and HIV/AIDS. They are seeking a volunteer accountant to support them in developing their internal & external reporting capacity.

They have two main programmes: they offer creative classes in breakdancing, rapping, beat making and graffiti art; and run an education programme in English, Maths and Computing. Peer mentoring is a core part of their work, and they hope through this they are ultimately offering the children and youth an opportunity to become leaders, teachers and positive members of society.

Your Role

They are a longstanding AfID partner and as the eighth volunteer, you will be reviewing their progress since recent placements, checking accounts are up to date and without errors. You will be reviewing reporting and financial controls, providing further training as needed. They have also asked for assistance with year-end activities and donor reporting.

This broad and wide-ranging assignment is a great opportunity for accountants thinking about a career move to the international development sector to get an extensive insight in just a couple of weeks.
