Reporting to the Accounts payable Manager this is a fun and large team offering good training and exposure within finance with the strong possibility that with performance in the role the temporary assignment will become permanent. The Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for the professional, timely and accurate setting up and amending suppliers for all Organisations including invoicing and payments.

My client are a leading consultancy company who manage Professional services for a number of clients in the commercial world. Supporting these clients with Finance and accounting work means there are numerous opportunities for development and to move up the chain with this well respected national employer with a firm base in Huntingdon. The Accounts Payable management team are supportive, friendly and have created a fun place to work where they require an Accounts Payable Clerk happy to get their head down when required to do so.

Description

Accounts Payable Clerk duties and responsibilities;

  • Manage the invoicing processes,
  • Regularly speak with clients to update on purchase orders
  • Receipting of GRN's
  • Collections and distribution of post for the Finance department
  • On receipt of supplier set ups, check to ensure all relevant information is provided as prescribed in the Financial Procedures.
  • On receipt of Supplier amendments requests, carry out checks on the documentation held or submitted and only enter if it meets the requirements for the financial procedures.
  • Assist the team Senior in data cleanse for supplier on a quarterly basis or on request for all client Organisations.

    Full training will be provided but a good brain for numbers and some finance experience or exposure wills stand you in great stead. the following attributes and experience are required

  • Hardworking and an eagerness to learn
  • Good communication skills to speak with suppliers and deal with invoicing queries
  • prior office based experience and a good propensity for numbers
  • Ideally a desire to start a career within accountancy and finance
  • Good timekeeping
  • Have 5 GCSE passes or equivalent (Minimum Grade C - English and Mathematics)
  • Be computer literate and familiar with standard MS Office applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Attention to detail
  • Be friendly, helpful responsive to customers. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and customer service in own area of work.
  • Able to commute to Huntingdon on a daily basis
