Do you want to deliver high quality leadership communications?
Working collaboratively, you will have the insight and creative flair to develop and implement impactful and engaging communications that support the Tax service line's transformation journey and business objectives.

Tax is made up of 50,000 people globally who help our clients understand and manage their tax obligations responsibly and proactively. Tax has six sub-service lines that cover a wide range of issues: Business Tax Services, Global Compliance and Reporting, Law, Indirect Tax, International Tax Services, and Transaction Tax.

In the UK and Ireland our Tax business is made up of c.1200 professionals based across our 21 offices. In the past few years we have set a context of how our market is being disrupted. This is now a reality, with sponsored workstreams proactively disrupting our business using technology and new service delivery models, amongst others. The resulting change is now being felt at an individual level by our employees who need to be increasingly focussed on the market. The ultimate aim being that we continue to deliver our clients the highest quality of outcome, both though more efficient delivery of existing products and services in addition to the new ones we're developing.

Similarly, we are constantly innovating our comms approach and services and we are looking for a comms manager with a broad range of comms abilities and influencing skills to ensure we engage all of our people as we do so.

The opportunity
You will be responsible for devising and delivering communications that engage all of our people across a number of areas of our work, relating to our people, markets, operations, transformation and the overarching leadership of the practice; you will be able to think strategically, able to see the bigger picture, with a firm understanding and experience in delivery across a range of channels. Our principal channels include calls, webcasts, email, face-to-face events, vlogs, news stories, SharePoint, print and digital design, posters, plasmas and Yammer. We also use a variety of one-off media as required. To generate content, you will need to be able to listen effectively to leadership conversations and assimilate information to develop what you've heard into a relevant communications output.

Reporting to the Head of UK&I Tax Communications and Engagement, you will work closely with the Tax leadership team and Communications & Engagement teams.

Your key responsibilities
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Provide credible advice on communications that support and are aligned with Tax and the firm's objectives.
  • Work with the Head of UK&I Tax Comms and Engagement to create the internal communications plan for Tax, engaging all of our Tax people.
  • Create and deliver communications that engage the audience using a range of innovative channels.
  • Have supporting skills that enable this delivery: writing, creativity, collateral production, video shoot direction, planning and organisation.
  • Manage internal and external suppliers to deliver channel content.

Skills and attributes for success
  • Excellent writing and events management capabilities.
  • Knowledge and experience of delivering best practice internal communication tools/outputs.

To qualify for the role you must have
  • Experience of building strong relationships and influencing senior business leaders and peers.
  • Experience of creating and executing communications that support business objectives and increase employee engagement.

Ideally, you'll also have
  • Experience of working in professional services or matrix organisations or large corporates.
  • Experience of working with internal and external agencies.
What we look for
  • You'll be able to assimilate multiple sources of information, reflect it back to leadership to help them solidify their thinking and translate this into accessible communications.
  • You can manage tactical delivery to a level of fine detail.
  • You are capable of working in a complex, interdependent matrix organisation that is going through a period of change and transformation.
