In this pivotal role, you will be part of UK & Ireland (UK&I) Resource Management which is recognised as an integral enabler to the growth of business.

The UK&I Resource Management function focuses on optimising people productivity to drive business performance, quality, employee experiences and engagement through supply, demand and experience management.

It has three core operating areas - Strategic Resourcing; Resource Deployment and the Centre of Excellence (CoE) - and provides resource management services to over 8,000 people at EY from within UK&I Assurance, Advisory, TAS, Tax and PAS Service Lines (SLs).


The opportunity

This new role with Resource Deployment provides oversight to the growing supply of 'near shore' resources from the UK&I Delivery and Innovation Centre (D&IC) based in Belfast to meet our UK&I staffing requirements. The role will work closely with all five Service Line (SL) Resource Deployment teams and be a key influencer across the UK&I Resource Deployment network.
The role encompasses the following:
  • Manage supply of 250 resources for UK&I SL engagements
  • Maximising fulfilment in line with utilisation, chargeable hours, margin, revenue, client quality and employee engagement targets through using a commercial mind-set
  • Build knowledge of each SL to proactively advise the Resource Deployment teams, Engagement Leads and Partners on the best near shore resourcing solutions
  • Build specialist knowledge on D&IC people's capabilities and skillsets to create access to the right experiences to support development and career progression


Direct reporting line to the UK&I Resource Deployment Lead based in London with a key role as part of the Belfast Operations team. This new role based in Belfast will operate with autonomy but expected to evolve as the D&IC grows.

Occasional London travelling required to build strong business partnering relationships and join face to face team meetings.

Your key responsibilities

Drive and Manage Resourcing Performance:
  • Manage supply of 250 resources for UK&I SL engagements
  • Proactive liaison with all SL Resource Deployment teams to understand client requirements and the wider needs of the business to facilitate effective D&IC resourcing decisions
  • Deal with escalated D&IC resourcing matters and make decisions on conflicting demands, liaising with members of the Resource Deployment team and D&IC leadership as required
  • Participate in SL Resource Deployment team meetings providing insights on D&IC capacity and business performance, discussing trends, interventions and actions to improve results
  • Represent near shore solutions in cross SL Resourcing meetings
  • Manage D&IC productivity targets to influence chargeable hour and utilisation performance
  • Provide insight to the Belfast Operations team on D&IC performance against productivity metrics and owns actions to improve results
  • Influence recruitment pipeline through active identification of skill gaps and performance trends to meet business demands
  • Build specialist knowledge on D&IC capability and skill sets and proactively deploy individuals to areas where optimal utilisation can be achieved
  • Identify common skillsets and champion the fungibility of D&IC to drive wider team performance
  • Work with Belfast Operations on annual D&IC budgets to capture accurate headcount and chargeability phasing and flagging any concern areas before finalisation on these metrics
  • Support and implement continual improvement of D&IC resource deployment processes
  • Support and implement best practice approaches across the Resourcing function

Create an exceptional team:
  • Participate in Resourcing function team meetings, performance development requirements and training to develop the function
  • Lead on UK&I Resource function initiatives with senior sponsor support
  • Seek out opportunities to supervise, coach and mentor to further development in role

To qualify for the role you must have

  • The ideal candidate should have considerable experience in commercial resourcing, recruitment or operations environment that can demonstrate adaptability to the role

Ideally, you'll also have

  • Professional services experience (not essential)
