Our blue chip clients cover a range of geographies including the UK, Europe, the US, Australia and China, and span most industry sectors including financial services, healthcare, consumer goods and retail, industrials, media and telecom, and natural resources. Our team of 25 professionals operates from offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, London and Munich, which we believe makes us the largest single team focused on China-related M&A. Vermilion was founded in 2004 and the senior leadership have worked together advising clients on cross-border investment in China since 1989, having completed approximately 300 assignments for over 100 clients to date. Vermilion is an advisory driven business, seeking to provide the highest quality professional advice and to build long term relationships with clients.

About the role

Associate Directors play a central role in project delivery and business development work, usually reporting directly to a Partner or Managing Director, and often acting as the day to day point of contact with clients and targets. Vermilion offers comprehensive and holistic advice to clients, therefore the nature of the work is wide-ranging, including but not limited to: financial modelling and valuation; advising and preparing reports on legal, tax, structuring, strategic, commercial and regulatory considerations; conducting desktop research to support target identification, market understanding and business development; conducting preliminary due diligence on targets and; managing the relationship and negotiations between client and target.

Vermilion is seeking candidates of the highest calibre - capable, professional, presentable, motivated, and intellectually curious team players. It is likely that successful candidates will have a background in a major accounting firm, strategy consultancy, investment bank or the finance or business development team of a major international corporate. Specific hard skills that we are seeking include:

Associate Director (Shanghai or Beijing)

• Native or near-native Chinese and English
• At least 5 years' relevant work experience
• Leading Chinese or international university
• Professional accounting qualification (preferable)
• Audit or transaction due diligence experience (preferable)
• Exposure to blue-chip multinational or Chinese clients
• Specialisation in at least one sector
• Excellent MS Office skills
